Gold-D is a Singapore brand
Located just above the equator, Singapore is a country in South East Asia, and it is not part of China or in China. In fact, China is a few hours away by international flight.
The UK connection
Modern Singapore was established as a British Settlement in 1819 by Sir Stamford Raffles. You can see a statue of him in the CBD in Singapore. The famous Raffles Hotel is of course named after him.
Queen Elizabeth II visited Singapore in 1972, 1989, and 2006.
Community animals
More than 80% of Singapore population live in government flats equivalent to council housing in the UK.
Unfortunately, cats are not allowed as pets in government housing and only small dogs are allowed.
In Singapore, community animals are always in danger. They are in danger of abuse and if anyone make a complain, the animals will be rounded up. Most of them are eventually culled. All it takes is a phone call.
On the other hand, there are rescuers, feeder and shelters who feed and care for community animals.
Gold-D brand
We started as feeders before becoming rescuers and now also focus on palliative care for cats.
The palliative care process inspired many Gold-D products and our brand Gold-D is of course named after an abandoned cat whom we adopted.
